GOVERNMENT APPROVES 100 MIL CONTOS FOR CV FAST FERRY

 Working in partnership and committed to launch a permanent maritime solution for the island of flowers, the government of Cape Verde approved yesterday an amount of 100 mil contos or approximately 1 million Euros for CV Fast Ferry to provide connectivity for market development and economic opportunities of the island of Brava.

Cabo Verde Fast Ferry, S.A. is a Private Public Partnership (PPP) with headquarters in Achã de Areia, Praia and registered with the Department of Corporations in Praia, n.º 2792.
CV Fast Ferry is a revenue generating company that will provide all aspects of maritime transport connections around the islands of Cape Verde with new and fuel-efficient ferries.

The company’s fast ferries are designed and built specifically for the water conditions of Cape Verde. Each ferry to be built in Holland will consist of 45 meters in length and equipped with all the necessary amenities for passenger’s comfort and safety. The Roll-on Roll-off vessels will transport 50 tons of commercial cargo including three 20 ft container trucks and 160 passengers.

 According to Nelson Gregor, Administrator of CV Fast Ferry, one of the ferries is projected to call Furna home port. “The company is committed to play a catalytic role in the economic transformation of Brava. It’s a part of the overall business strategy and we will remain focused on that commitment,” said Nelson Gregor.

CV Fast Ferry is a partnership of successful private entrepreneurs, municipalities of Fogo and Brava and the government of Cape Verde. The company retains legal and accounting services from Attorney Dr. Ilidio Cruz and CPA firm, PriceWaterhouse&Coopers.

”Public Bond offering at Stock Exchange of Cabo Verde will begin on Monday, November 3rd, 2008”, announced Andy Andrade, President of CV Fast Ferry Board of Administration.
