In the temperate waters around Cape Verde, a variety of Atlantic game fish can be caught year-round. The experienced captain and his/her first mate will help the vacationing fishing enthusiast bring in any fish, even if they have little previous experience. Many restaurants will even cook and serve your catch of the day!

Most styles of fishing are available on Cabo Verde Islands. Some organizations are more experienced than others. The waters contain a considerable number and variety of fish. Established facilities are available in Santa Maria on the island of Sal, offering Big Game fishing, trawl fishing and Bottom fishing. Equipment is available.

In addition, beach casting style fishing from the reefs can be successful from many points of the island. The island of Sao Nicolau is the most popular for deep sea fishing. Local boats are also available providing facilities to join Trawl fishing.

The port of Mindelo on the island of Sao Vicente offer many small craft mainly for Bottom fishing. Boavista also has facilities although not as developed as those which are available on Sal. The established fishing clubs offer an opportunity to pre-book their services. Details are available on request. Minimum number of participants and duration of the trip will vary from island to island.

Alternatively, fishing may be available by prior arrangement with your accommodation. Take much of your own personal equipment, as tackle on the islands can be limited.
